I took the kids to a berry farm and we picked a few bags of olallie berries (similar to black berries) and I made this wonderful pie from them. With a purple grin, my daughter said "I love berry pie"! This really is excellent if you have good fresh berries.

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a large bowl stir together the sugar, berries, lemon juice, and flour.
  3. Take one pie crust and poke crust with a fork three times (to keep air from bubbling up below the crust). Pour the berry mixture into the pie crust. Cut butter into small pieces and sprinkle over the berries. Cover berries with second crust. Crimp edges of the two pie crusts together. Punction top pie crust 3 times with fork.
  4. Place a cookie sheet on the rack below the pie (in case is over flows), and then bake pie for 35 minutes.
  5. Serve with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

This may have been simple for Nancy, but the tast was amazing. Just a few bites of this with a little ice cream was a nearly perfect ending to our meal.
    I've cooked/tasted this recipe!
