Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp grnd cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander seed
  • 1 tsp grnd turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp grnd red pepper up to 1/2 Vegetable cooking spray
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 3/4 tsp chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 x cloves garlic chopped
  • 8 ounce lemon low-fat yogurt
  • 3 Tbsp. skim lowfat milk

Directions

  1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a medium bowl; stir well, and set aside.
  2. Coat a small nonstick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium-high heat till warm. Add in onion, ginger, and garlic; saute/fry till tender. Add in to flour mix, stirring well; make a well in center of mix. Combine yogurt and lowfat milk; add in to dry ingredients, stirring just till dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Bake at 450F for 10 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  4. Yield: 2 dozen (47 calories each).
