  • 4 lbs fresh cherries (red preferred)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups unsweetened alcohol (80 proof or higher if not refrigerated)
  • 6 - 1 pint size canning jars

Directions

  1. Pack canning jars loosely with pitted cherries.
  2. Divide sugar evenly between each jar.
  3. Submerge cherries in alcohol.
  4. Add lid and shake to dissolve sugar. (If all of the sugar does not dissolve, just let sit for a few minutes, shake and repeat.)
