Ingredients

  • 1/2 gal dill pickles, or possibly sour (Vlasec)
  • 3 1/2 lb sugar
  • 1/2 box stick cinnamon
  • 2 tsp celery seed
  • 1 tsp pickling spice
  • 1 c. vinegar Drain pickles for 1 hour (if whole slice).

Directions

  1. Alternate putting the pickles and sugar in gallon jar. Let stand until sugar dissolves.
  2. Drain liquid into saucepan, add in spice and vinegar. Bring to boil, let stand to cold.
  3. Place pickles in jar, cover with liquid, seal.
  4. Needs to stand 1 week or possibly longer before using.
