Butter Chicken - Chicken Makhani

Butter Chicken - Chicken Makhani by John Spottiswood

My kids love Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken) and Chicken Tikka Masala whenever we go to an Indian buffet. So we tried replicating it at home. It's not a difficult dish to make once you have all the ingredients, and the results are delicious! It also gains flavor in your refrigerator over the next few days, so it's great for…

It's Not Your Uncle Bens' Rice

It's Not Your Uncle Bens' Rice by kathy gori

I once had a sister in law who didn't last very long in the family..when she and one of my husbands brothers came to visit us in Los Angeles. I of course cooked dinner for them. She wanted to go shopping with me so I took her along. At the market I picked up a bag of rice. She asked me what that was. "It's rice" I told her. For…

Kheemah Kheemah Kheehah Chamelion by kathy gori

Ok, I'm sure I'm dating myself with that one. I remember when I was dancing around with one earring and big hair and leggings and I hadn't yet started cooking Indian food. But that's another tale for another time. Boy George aside... A got an email from a Facebook friend in the UK the other night. Evidently someone had gifted her and…

Cauliflower, Baby Potatoes, and Heirloom Tomatoes, Oh My! by kathy gori

I love vegetarian meals, hell, I love almost everything except mayonnaise which fortunately doesn't figure in Indian cooking. One of the greatest compliments I can get at home is when my husband says.."I'm a carnivore, but damn this is really really good. I could just eat this stuff." Of course "this stuff" is vegetables. This is the…
