Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Sweet butter
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 x Egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 1/2 c. Flour
  • 4 x Egg whites
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 3/4 c. Finely grnd walnuts
  • 1 tsp Lemon extract Blackberry jelly

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar; add in egg yolk and salt. Add in and salt. Add in flour gradually and beat. Pat dough into thin layer in 12 x 12 inch pan. Beat egg whites; add in sugar till stands in stiff peaks. Mix in grnd nuts and flavoring. Spread jelly over and swirl meringue on top. Sprinkle with minced nuts; bake at 350 F about 45 min. When hot, cut in squares.
