Ingredients

  • 1 c. lime juice
  • 2 x 14-oz cans sweetened condensed lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp grated lime peel
  • 1 dsh green food color -- (1-2)
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. slivered almonds -- grnd*
  • 1/2 c. land o lakes butter
  • 1/2 c. flaked coconut

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350i. Combine all filling ingredients in large bowl. Set aside. (Mix will thicken slightly.)
  2. Combine flour, sugar and grnd almonds in large bowl; cut in butter till mix is crumbly.
  3. Pat mix proportionately into ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake for 16 to 18 min or possibly till edges are lightly browned.
  4. Pour filling mix over warm, partially baked crust. Sprinkle with coconut. Continue baking for 15 to 17 min or possibly till filling is set. Cold completely. Cut into bars. Cover; store refrigerated.
  5. Substitute 1/2 c. finely minced macadamia nuts.
  6. Preparation Time: 15 Min

  8. HELPFUL HINT: If you're using a dark or possibly nonstick baking pan, reduce oven temperature to 325i for best results.
