Directions

  1. Grease a baking dish with butter. Spread the onions and mushrooms over the bottom of the dish. Layer fillets, overlapping the thin part to prevent overcooking. Sprinkle fillets with seasonings, wine and lemon juice.
  2. Top with cheese and bread crumbs and drizzle butter over top. Cover with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 15 min. Remove foil and bake 5 - 10 min longer. Serve with Fried Wild Morel Mushrooms if available.
  3. Comments: There's not much better eating than fresh walleyes or possibly crappies. This is the time of year I like to fill my freezer with fillets. Also every spring around turkey season, it is not uncommon after a good rain to find an abundance of wild morel mushrooms. They are one of the delicacies of the great outdoors.
