Cracker Barrel's Buttermilk Biscuits {Copy Kat} Recipe
by CookingLib

Cracker Barrel, grandmas, and biscuits….

all of three of them go hand in hand if you ask me!

Husband Man's grandmother made some awesome biscuits....supposedly. I never had the chance to meet her so I've never tasted them. When she passed away, she took her lovely biscuit recipe with her, leaving her loved ones to guess what those secret ingredients were.

I have tried sooooo many different recipes for biscuits over the years and not one of them measured up to hers according to Husband Man. Southern Living's recipe came super close, however, he said there was still something missing…until

this recipe came along.

This recipe originally started out on the blog as a two-ingredient one.

And it stayed on the blog for quite some time.

However, after stumbling upon a few recipes for

Cracker Barrel's buttermilk biscuits (by accident), I noticed that the one on the blog and

the copy kat one had two things in common….

Buttermilk AND Bisquick

I tinkered around with the measurements in both recipes and

came up with this!

We LOVE Cracker Barrel's biscuits and can eat 3 each

if we aren't careful. It's the first thing we ask the waiter/waitress when they take our order…."do ya have any of those yummy biscuits we can eat?"

I'm so glad that I'm able to duplicate their

recipe now ;)

Everyone in my family LOVES these! Even Husband Man!

He did tell me that they are pretty darn close to his grandma's so I take this as a winner!

Maybe one day her recipe will magical fall into my lap~wishful thinking right? Until then though, these will just have to do!

(makes 6 biscuits)

Ingredients:

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees and spray a glass baking dish with non stick spray.

2. In a mixing bowl, stir together the Bisquick, buttermilk, and sugar. Mix until well combined.

3. Add in the 1 tablespoon of melted butter and mix again until well blended.

4. Sprinkle a flat surface with 1/4 cup of all purpose flour. Take the dough and knead it at least 20 times on the surface, using the flour to coat it.

5. Roll dough until it is at least 1/2 inch to 1 inch thick all around.

6. With a round biscuit cutter, cut them into pieces and place them on the dish.

7. Brush the tops with half of the 2 tablespoons of melted butter.

8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until tops are light brown.

9. After baking, brush tops with the remaining melted butter.
