Brett & Bart's favorite spaghetti

Brett & Bart's favorite spaghetti by jeanne templeman

This is an old Italian recipe that I've been cooking for 30 years, and my boys and husband all love it. I got this from my good friend and extraordinary cook Jeannie Puente. The trick for the old Italian flavor is that you cook it for 2 days in a crockpot. I don't leave it on at night for safety. Delicious!

Green Chicken Chili

Green Chicken Chili by Nancy Miyasaki

This isn't your thick beans and meat sort of chili, but it is absolutely delicious. Think a cross between a soup and a traditional chili. It's pretty healthy too with white meat chicken, hominy, and potatoes.

Cumin Chicken

Cumin Chicken by John Spottiswood

The combined flavors of cumin and oregano in this seasoning is just phenomenal with poultry. This recipe is adapted from Allen Susser's New World Cuisine. It is one of our favorites. Even as we have moved toward more of a vegetable-centric cuisine, this has remained a staple.

Italian meatballs

Italian meatballs by Deanna Martinez-Bey

The quality of your ingredients will make or break the dish you are preparing. The key to these meatballs are the types of meat and bread you use to make them. These are called Italian Meatballs because this recipe is a family recipe and you guessed it, it came from an Italian family. Mia Famiglia!

Grilled Asian Pork Loin

Grilled Asian Pork Loin by John Spottiswood

We had a BBQ party today and served pork loin with two different types of marinade. This one was universally loved. It has a wonderful sweet and salty flavor. The kids definitely preferred this one, though the adults were more evenly split. Easy to make and perfect for a large BBQ party! The picture didn't turn out very well, but…

Spinach & Artichoke Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Spinach & Artichoke Pierogi (Polish Dumplings) by ChaCha Can Cook

I use my Aunt Pearl's Dough recipe and I decided to make a filling different from the norm (Potato & Cheese or Cabbage). I they taste great and go very well with the potato. The bite from the artichoke plays nicely against the cheese and garlic mixture.

Spice Rubbed Roast Turkey

Spice Rubbed Roast Turkey by Robyn Savoie

This salty-spicy-sweet rub keeps the meat lean but still plenty of flavor. This recipe easily converts to a 3 - 4 pound roasting chicken. Just cut the seasonings in half. The instructions include cooking time.
