Snickerdoodle Muffins by Nancy MiyasakiEvery mother should have these in her repertoire. One bowl, pedestrian ingredients, and children absolutely love them. These are buttery, sweet, with a soft, pillow-like texture–nothing to get in the way of appreciative grunts. I doubled this recipe and got 17 muffins, so a single will probably yield 8. |

Cold oven vanilla pound cake by Rose NapeThis is one of those things I have to keep my eye on when I put it on the menu. Broccoli and Mushroom Quiche by Nancy MiyasakiI made this quiche for father's day and it was adored by the adults, not so much by the kids. The garlic ads a nice dimension and a little kick. I loved it, and will definitely make again. Note: Quiche can be baked 1 day ahead and chilled. Reheat, uncovered, in a 325°F oven, about 25 minutes. |

Buttermilk Banana Bread by Nancy MiyasakiI've made dozens of different types of banana bread, and this is one of my favorites. Our kids devoured it! My oldest told me "this is the best banana bread you've ever made, Mom." That's high praise from a 9th grader! |

Banana Bread by Rose ElliottI've been making this banana bread for years, making small changes here and there. It's a great one to make with the kids, and enjoy hot out of the oven! You can make it into muffins as well, just adjust the cook time accordingly (~20 minutes for full-size muffins). |
