Turkish Red Pepper & Walnut Dip by John SpottiswoodI've had this appetizer numerous times at my favorite nearby Turkish restaurant, New Kapadokia. I finally made it myself for a number of guests and it was a big hit. Slightly sweet, slightly spicy, and very flavorful. I served it with high quality hummus and babaganoush, and the red pepper dip was the most popular. Give it a try! |

Miso Salmon (Dengaku) by Nancy MiyasakiThis is a wonderful, mildly flavored dish. Japanese food is comfort food for me, and nothing goes down more smoothly than this dish. The sweet and salty miso glaze brings out the best in the salmon without overpowering it. Our kids love it too! |

Normally it is grilled down there, but I think the recipe on the broiler does an even better job. The fish stays very moist, but still gets a little crispy on top from the broiler. Moroccan Broiled Fish Skewers or Fillets by John SpottiswoodThis is a tasty Moroccan dish that you are sure to love. Serve it over salad, cous cous, bulgar pilaf, or white or brown rice. We've used thick white fish but also thinner fish like catfish or tilapia when they are more reasonable. You can't skewer them, but you can broil the whole fillet (see picture). It also works with salmon… |

BEST italian sub by ScrimpsMy sister and I created this sub one day when we were both bored, starving, and a little hungover. We just threw together anything we could find in our fridge and were both shocked at how good it turned out. I make this sub for lunch at least twice a week now. |
