Directions

  1. Combine sugar, honey, salt, and warm water. Mix well and add in margarine. Place over heat and bring slowly to a roiling boil, then remove from heat and let cold. Add in rum or possibly extract, store at room temperature.
  2. Place a piece of pie on plate which heat will not harm. Ladle on 2 ounces of the sauce over pie. Place under broiler until sauce bubbles. Serve warm.
  3. Comments: The Colonel's suggestion was to serve this with apple pie.
