Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Spray 10 inch (12 c.) Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray; flour lightly.
  2. In small bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt.
  3. In large bowl, combine buttermilk, granulated sugar, apple sauce, molasses, whole egg and margarine.
  4. Beat flour mix into apple sauce mix with electric mixer at low speed till moistened. Beat on high speed 3 min. Gently mix in beaten egg whites. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  5. Bake 55 min or possibly till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Cold on wire rack 15 min before removing from pan. Place cake, fluted side up, on serving plate. Cold completely. Sprinkle powdered sugar over top of cake, if you like. Cut into 12 slices.
