Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes-Old fashion batter

My son loves special treats in his pancakes, so sometimes it's chocolate chips, M&M's, fruit and even bacon. This combination is a favorite everyone loves fresh banana and chocolate chips.
I am including the pancake batter recipe but if you don't like making your own batter just used BOXED pancake mix it will work just fine.

Goes Well With: butter, Maple syrup, pancake syrup

Ingredients

  • For homemade pancake batter:
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour, sifted to lighten the pancake
  • 3 1/2 teas baking powder
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teas salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk (I warm it slightly)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp melted butter
  • 2-3 peeled sliced bananas
  • chocolate chips

Directions

  1. In a large bowl sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar, make a well in the center.
  2. In a med bowl mix milk, egg and vanilla then whisk in butter, pour into dry ingredients and mix gently til combined. Don't over mix or you won't have light fluffy pancakes!
  3. Heat griddle or frying pan over med heat, lightly oil. Pour batter onto griddle and place banana slices gently into batter and sprinkle with chocolate chips. When bubbled and edges dry, flip carefully.
