Chocolate Cake Recipe
This is a sinful chocolate cake recipe that my aunt taught me. She always bakes this for us making us wanting more.
Ingredients
- 3 cups plain flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 200g butter
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- Option: 1-3tbsp milk
- 1 cup cocoa powder (diluted with some hot water & 1tbsp sugar)
- Chocolate sauce - Double Boil
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 tin of condensed milk (I used about 400g)
Directions
- Sift the flour with the baking powder.
- Whisk the rest of the ingredients except the chocolate sauce. If you find the mixture a little dry, add in the milk for a good consistency.
- Bake the cake at 160 degrees (or follow your oven specs for baking) for 40 - 45 minutes.
- Once cake cooled, double boil the chocolate sauce ingredients and pour over the chocolate cake.
- Option: Decorate the cake with fresh strawberries.

USE INSTEAD
3 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
4 oz butter = 110 g = 1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup cocoa powder (diluted with some hot water & 1tbsp sugar)
Chocolate sauce boiled once.
1 cup cocoa powder
310mL of condensed soy milk
