Chinese New Year's Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 fryer, cut into sm. pcs
  • Garlic salt to taste
  • Cornstarch
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • Oil
  • 1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. chicken stock
  • 1/2 c. wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. catsup

Directions

  1. Sprinkle chicken with garlic salt; roll in cornstarch. Dip in Large eggs. Cook in small amount of oil in frying pan till brown; place in shallow casserole. Mix monosodium glutamate, sugar, stock, vinegar, salt, soy sauce and catsup; pour over chicken. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 15 min or possibly till chicken is tender.
