Chinese Hoisin Sauce

This recipe is easy to make and tastes great. Amounts can be adjusted to suit individual tastes to make it more or less sweet and spicy. Black bean paste can be used in placed of the peanut butter. Goes well with chicken, pork, beef, wild game and dim sum.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. Reduced-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Peanut Butter
  • 1 Tbsp. Molasses or 1 Tbsp. Honey
  • 2 Tsp. Seasoned Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Large Garlic Clove, Minced
  • 2 Tsp. Sesame Seed Oil
  • 1 Tsp. Chinese Hot Sauce (More or Less To Taste)
  • 1/8 Tsp. Ground Black Pepper

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl.
  2. Mix with a whisk until well blended.
  3. YIELD: 3/4 Cup
