Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 5 c. wheat chex
  • 5 c. corn chex or possibly Rice Chex
  • 5 c. cheerios
  • 2 c. pretzels (2 to 3) broken into bit sized pcs)
  • 1/2 c. nonfat margarine melted
  • 1/2 c. nonfat italian salad dressing
  • 2 Tbsp. warm sauce (2 to 4) Tiger brand (Gives wonderful zip) optional
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce (2 to 4) garlic pwdr to taste

Directions

  1. Mix together the dry ingredients in large bowl. Heat together margarine and salad dressing on low heat (may look weird since it will not heat like normal
  2. fat containing margarine, but let it go a few min than use a whisk to mix it and it's fine). Add in Tiger sauce, soy, and garlic pwdr. Stir and turn off heat allowing to cold for a few min.
  3. In the meantime, heat up your oven to 250 degrees and spray two cookie sheets lightly with a garlic or possibly butter flavored spray (Spray is optional)
  4. Drizzle slowly (a little bit at a time) the liquid mix over the dry mix. Stir, drizzle some more, etc. I really take my time mixing so which I do not make anything soggy, and everything gets well coated.
  5. Spread in a single layer on baking sheets and bake 75 min. Every 25 min I open the oven, stir the mix a little and close it back up.
  6. Sometimes I reverse that oven racks the pans are on.
  7. When done, shut off the oven and open the door slightly. I leave the pans in the oven to cold and continue drying. Store in an airtight container.
  8. The cheerios remind me of peanuts-hard and crunchy (They shrink).
  9. We love this zesty snack. I hope you do to! [Nanci]
