Cherry Sangria Jam Recipe

- 1 navel orange, washed well
- 4 c. sweet cherries, pitted (Mine were frozen but thawed.)
- 4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. bottled lemon juice
- 1/2 c. Tempranillo wine*
- 1 box powdered pectin (6 T. if using bulk pectin.)

,%20I%20decided%20that%20this%20Spanish%20wine%20would%20be%20great%20for%20a%20cherry-sangria%20inspired%20jam.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECherry%20Sangria%20Jam%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrepare%20a%20waterbath%20and%20sterilize%20jars.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThinly%20slice%20the%20orange%20and%20then%20quarter%20each%20slice.%20%20Quarter%20the%20quarter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20orange%20slices,%20cherries,%20sugar,%20wine%20and%20lemon%20juice%20in%20a%20large%20heavy%20bottomed%20pot.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20to%20a%20boil,%20stirring%20often,%20skimming%20any%20foam%20that%20forms.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20temperature%20reaches%20220%20F.,%20add%20in%20the%20pectin%20and%20stir%20until%20it%E2%80%99s%20dissolved%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20to%20a%20boil%20for%20one%20minute%20and%20then%20take%20off%20the%20heat%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELadle%20the%20jam%20evenly%20into%20hot%20sterilized%20jars,%20making%20sure%20to%20leave%20a%201/4%E2%80%B3%20headspace.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20lids%20and%20rings%20on%20the%20jars%20and%20place%20in%20jar%20rack%20and%20lower%20into%20the%20boiling%20waterbath.%20Make%20sure%20water%20covers%20jars%20by%20at%20least%201%20inch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EProcess%20for%2015%20minutes%20then%20carefully%20remove%20jars.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20set%20for%20one%20day%20then%20check%20to%20make%20sure%20they%20are%20sealed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStore%20in%20a%20cool%20dry%20place%20until%20ready%20to%20use.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYield:%204-6%20half%20pints%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Use%20whatever%20red%20you%20want.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20smells%20delicious%20when%20it%20is%20cooking,%20exactly%20like%20Sangria.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20sure%20how%20to%20take%20this%20photo%20without%20my%20reflection!%20%F0%9F%99%82%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAside:%20%20These%20are%20the%20cutest%20little%20jars%20that%20I%20bought%20at%20TJ%20Maxx%20a%20couple%20of%20years%20ago.%20%20They%20are%20Bormioli%20Rocco%20Quattro%20Stagioni%205%20oz.%20jars%20and%20I%20love%20them.%20%20I%20reuse%20them%20for%20vinaigrettes,%20etc.,%20but%20I%20wanted%20to%20can%20with%20them%20again%20so%20I%20ordered%20the%20one-piece%20lids%20from%20Amazon.%20%20Good%20Lord,%20but%20they%20were%20over%20a%20buck%20a%20piece.%20%20%20I%20still%20love%20the%20cuteness%20factor,%20though.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThanks,%20Mom,%20for%20the%20cherries.%20%20I%20only%20found%20a%20few%20pits.%20%20%F0%9F%99%82%20%20Hope%20you%20enjoyed%20your%20jar%20that%20came%20in%20your%20recent%20birthday%20box!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20ordered%20from%20Uncommon%20Goods%20before%20and%20love%20their%20products.%20%20(See%20here.)%20%20%20%20And,%20we%20have%20been%20inspired%20before%20from%20items%20in%20their%20catalog%20during%20%20our%20annual%20Christmas-gift-making-blitz.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
