Carrot Halva

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pt Lowfat milk
  • 1 lb Carrots
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 c. Ghee
  • 1/4 c. Blanched Almonds
  • 1 ounce Raisins
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom

Carrot Halva

Directions

  1. 1) Peel and finely grate carrots
  2. 2. Grind the cardamon seeds
  3. 3. Pour lowfat milk into a saucepan, bring to the boil
  4. 4. Add in carrots, cover and simmer for 30 min till soft
  5. 5. Add in sugar and stir, till mix thickens
  6. 6. Fry almonds in ghee, on a low heat for 5 min, till golden brown
  7. 7. Add in almonds, cardamon, and raisins to mix, stir and cook for 5 min
  8. 8. Can be served warm or possibly cool
