.%20We%E2%80%99ve%20been%20tweeting%20forever%20but%20despite%20good%20intentions%20I%20had%20yet%20to%20make%20any%20of%20the%20events%20that%20she%20diligently%20schedules%20for%20Denver%20natives.%20We%E2%80%99ve%20even%20talked%20on%20the%20phone%20yet%20I%20know%20she%20wondered%20if%20I%20was%20really%20real%20and%20so%20this%20past%20Tuesday,%20I%20decided%20to%20make%20an%20extra%20effort%20to%20arrive%20at%20the%20%23twEATdrink%20event%20she%20had%20pulled%20together%20in%20downtown%20Denver.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20unabashedly%20admit%20I%E2%80%99m%20a%20suburban%20girl%20and%20offer%20no%20apologies%20for%20that.%20The%20effort%20to%20get%20to%20Sarah%E2%80%99s%20event%20is%20predicated%20by%20my%20schedule%20and%20getting%20out%20of%20my%20office%20before%20the%20rush%20hour%20traffic%20is%20in%20full%20on%20mode.%20If%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20plan%20that%20well%E2%80%A6well,%20then%20there%20is%20no%20point;%20stop%20and%20go%20traffic%20is%20one%20of%20the%20things%20in%20this%20world%20that%20drives%20me%20BONKERS.%20As%20it%20was,%20leaving%20at%204:30p%20resulted%20in%20an%20hour%20trip%20getting%20there%20for%20what%20is%20typically%20a%2025%20minute%20drive%20so%20the%20next%20time%20I%E2%80%99m%20taking%20my%20laptop,%20leaving%20at%202pm%20and%20doing%20some%20work%20with%20a%20cocktail%20in%20my%20hand%20to%20avoid%20a%20recurrence!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETuesday%20was%20the%20day%E2%80%A6the%20stars%20were%20aligned%20and%20the%20Wizard%20was%20finally%20revealed%20when%20Sarah%20and%20I%20finally%20met,%20in%20person,%20at%20Colt%20and%20Gray,%20a%20neighborhood%20%20pub%20on%20Platte%20Street%20that%20serves%20great%20food%20and%20drink%20in%20a%20comfortable%20environment.%20We%20met%20in%20the%20bar%20and%20Sarah%20was%20everything%20I%20expected%E2%80%A6warm%20and%20friendly%20and%20surrounded%20by%20a%20circle%20of%20people%20for%20an%20evening%20of%20socializing%20with%20both%20old%20and%20new%20friends%20brought%20together%20by%20the%20magic%20of%20Twitter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESarah%20works%20with%20the%20establishment%20prior%20to%20our%20arrival%20and%20we%20were%20given%20a%20list%20of%20specials%20that%20had%20been%20%E2%80%98cooked%E2%80%99%20up%20for%20us%20%20including%20cocktails,%20beer%20and%20some%20bar%20snacks.%20Kevin%20Burke,%20the%20Head%20Barman%20had%20done%20us%20well%20with%20three%20fabulous%20cocktails;%20the%20Applejack%20Sazerac%20with%20Applejack,%20Maple%20syrup,%20Bitters%20and%20Pastis;%20the%20Hanky-Panky%20Updated%20consisting%20of%20Dry%20Gin,%20Dolin%20Rouge%20and%20Fernet%20and%20the%20one%20I%20chose%20for%20my%20libation%20named%20the%20Cabaret%20Cocktail%20and%20engineered%20with%20Vodka,%20St.%20Germain%20liqueur,%20blackberries%20and%20lemon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20I%20mean%20lemon%E2%80%A6this%20is%20no%20rim%20of%20the%20glass%20or%20simple%20lemon%20twist;%20no,%20this%20drink%20has%20pucker%20power%20in%20the%20mix.%20For%20me%20though%20it%20was%20the%20lure%20of%20the%20St.%20Germain%20liqueur%20from%20France.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20only%20had%20one%20cocktail%20before%20with%20this%20elixir%20made%20from%20the%20elderflower%20and%20I%20was%20anxious%20to%20see%20how%20Kevin%20worked%20with%20it%E2%80%99s%20almost%20mysterious%20blend%20of%20sweet%20and%20citrus.%20Isn%E2%80%99t%20that%20the%20most%20beautiful%20bottle%20ever?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKevin%20labeled%20this%20drink%20as%20refreshing%20and%20that%E2%80%99s%20true%20but%20I%20also%20thought%20it%20was%20beautiful.%20I%20think%20my%20daughter%20would%20love%20this%20but%20I%20know%20she%20might%20prefer%20it%20a%20bit%20sweeter%20so%20I%20can%20see%20making%20a%20lemon%20syrup%20with%20lemon%20juice%20and%20sugar%20for%20her%20version;%20just%20a%20bit%20of%20sweet%20to%20cut%20the%20tartness%20I%20loved.%20I%E2%80%99ll%20have%20to%20experiment%20some%20more%20won%E2%80%99t%20I?%20Don%E2%80%99t%20cry%20for%20me%E2%80%A6it%E2%80%99s%20a%20job%20and%20someone%20has%20to%20do%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20hope%20you%E2%80%99ll%20enjoy%20this%20cocktail%20with%20me%20and%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20in%20Denver,%20follow%20Sarah%20on%20Twitter%20(Sarah%20is%20also%20the%20owner%20of%20STANCE,%20a%20customer%20experience%20management%20company)%20for%20the%20next%20event%20and%20stop%20in%20to%20Colt%20and%20Gray;%20I%20just%20know%20Kevin%20will%20hook%20you%20up!%20I%20mean%E2%80%A6he%20gave%20me%20napkins,%20swizzle%20sticks%20and%20even%20the%20square%20glass%20I%20loved%20to%20help%20me%20recreate%20not%20just%20the%20libation%20but%20the%20%E2%80%98feel%E2%80%99%20of%20a%20bar%20in%20my%20dining%20room%20photo%20studio.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheers!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECaberet%20Cocktail%20from%20Colt%20and%20Gray%20with%20St.%20Germain%20Liqueur%20and%20Blackberries%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20refreshing,%20tart%20and%20sophisticated%20cocktail%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreparation%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMuddle%20the%20two%20blackberries%20in%20a%20shaker%20and%20then%20add%20a%20handful%20of%20ice%20to%20the%20container.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%
