Buttermilk Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

  • Scant tbs. yeast
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 1/4 c AP flour
  • 1 tbs. sugar
  • 1 stick butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. salt

Buttermilk Dinner Rolls

Time: 10 minutes prep, 20 minutes cook
Servings: 8
 

Directions

  1. Mix liquid ingredients together, sift in dry ones.
  2. Mix well and let rise covered 1 hour, or until doubled (depends on temperature)
  3. Shape, let rise 45 minutes.
  4. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  5. Brush tops of rolls with butter.
  6. Bake until golden brown.
  7. Note: I bake 2 pans of 7 in 9 inch pie plates, or 16 rolls in a 9x13.
  8. To freeze: let cool completely, cover in plastic and put in freezer for up to 2 weeks.
