Ingredients
- Potato filling
- 2 medium size potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 1/2 cup frozen green peas
- 2 green chilli (sliced thinly)
- 1 red chilli (sliced thinly)
- 3 shallots (sliced/chopped)
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp kunyit/turmeric powder
- 2 sprigs curry leaves
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt for taste
- Batter/flour mixture
- 3 tbsp gram flour
- 1 tbsp oil
- Water - as needed
- Salt for taste
- Oil for frying

Bonda (Fried Savoury Potato Balls)
Time: 50 minutes prep, 25 minutes cook
Servings: 7 person
Directions
- Potato Filling
- In heated oil, fry chillies, shallots, mustard seeds.
- Add mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, curry leaves, peas and salt to taste.
- Stir till all sticks together.
- Remove from heat and let it cool down.
- Roll filling; bit by bit into individual balls.
- For batter/flour coating
- Add flour, salt and oil.
- Mix while pouring enough water for a thin batter.
- Dip balls in batter.
- Fry/deep fry til golden brown.
- Remove and drain over kitchen towel.
