%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20your%20oven%20and%20stone%20to%20a%20piping%20hot%20500'%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20that%20first%20initial%20rise%20(there%20will%20be%20no%20second%20rise),%20grab%20about%201%20lb%20of%20dough.%20Shape%20it%20into%20a%20ball%20(don't%20knead...just%20pull%20the%20dough%20under%20until%20you%20have%20a%20smooth%20ball.....this%20takes%20less%20than%20a%20minute).%20Place%20it%20on%20a%20well%20floured%20surface%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDivide%20the%20dough%20into%204%20and%20shape%20those%20into%20balls%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUse%20enough%20flour%20to%20keep%20them%20from%20sticking%20but%20not%20so%20much%20that%20the%20dough%20dries%20out...don't%20stress%20over%20it...don't%20over%20think%20it......you'll%20be%20fine%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow....take%20one%20of%20those%20little%20balls....flatten%20it%20a%20bit....roll%20it%20out,%20turning,%20rolling.....kinda%20like%20you%20would%20for%20a%20pizza,%20until%20it's%20about%201/8%20thick.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlide%20it%20onto%20you%20stone%20and%20bake%20for%20about%205%20-%207%20minutes.%20After%20the%20first%204%20or%205%20minutes,%20I%20took%20the%20pita%20off%20the%20stone%20and%20continued%20to%20bake%20it%20directly%20on%20the%20rack%20(placement%20of%20racks%20is%20not%20important)%20so%20that%20it%20would%20brown%20a%20little.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20from%20the%20oven.....Oh%20look!!!%20It%20puffed%20up!!%20That%20means%20he's%20got%20pockets...wooo%20hoooo%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20let%20him%20cool.%20In%20order%20to%20maintain%20the%20pliable%20softness%20that%20pita's%20are%20known%20for.....cover%20this%20guy%20up%20with%20a%20little%20cotton%20towel%20and%20tuck%20him%20in%20until%20he%20cools%20off%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe'll%20flatten%20out%20as%20he%20cools.%20Serve%20warm%20or%20at%20room%20temp.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(This%20was%20my%20whole%20wheat%20version)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWant%20more%20hummus%20variations?%20Check%20out%20the%20Southwestern%20Hummus%20that%20I%20make%20with%20cilantro%20and%20jalapenos%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(this%20hummus%20tastes%20best%20with%20tortilla%20chips)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESoo....there%20ya%20have%20it.%20Black%20Bean%20Hummus%20and%20Homemade%20Pita%20and%20links%20to%20more.%20You%20have%20no%20excuse%20now.%20If%20you%20haven't%20tried%20hummus%20or%20if%20you%20tried%20the%20store%20bought%20stuff%20and%20thought%20you%20didn't%20like%20it....give%20it%20a%20second%20chance.%20It's%20good%20stuff.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
