Directions

  1. Cream shortening, sugar and salt. Add in Large eggs, vanilla. Add in flour and nuts last. Divide batter, add in melted chocolate to half the batter. Drop checkerboard fashion in long greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 min.
  2. Frosting: Over warm water heat 1/2 oz of chocolate, 1 Tbsp. butter, 2 Tbsp. lowfat milk. Add in 3/4 to 1 c. of confectioners' sugar. Cream well till very smooth. Spread over brownies while still warm. Sprinkle with nuts.
