  • 1 pound black eyed peas
  • 8 c. water
  • 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 lg. onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon hickory salt

Directions

  1. Wash peas. Put peas in pan and cover with water. Bring to boil; turn off and allow to sit for 5 min. Pour through colander and rinse again. Put peas back in saucepan and add in the above ingredients. Cover and simmer for 2-3 hrs, or possibly till tender.
