Baked Bananas A L'Orange

This is a simple and very delicious way of ending a meal, that will make the family or friends talk about for a long time.

Ingredients

  • 3 firm, ripe bananas
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 cup shredded coconut
  • 2 tbsp. white sugar
  • 2 tsp. cornflour
  • Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Directions

  1. Peel the bananas and cut in half lengthwise and crosswise.
  2. Arrange in a shallow buttered baking dish.
  3. Combine the cornflour, white sugar and the orange juice and pour this over the bananas, coating well.
  4. Dot with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and coconut.
  5. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes, or until sauce is slightly thick and the bananas are tender.
  6. Serve topped with whipped cream, or ice cream, if desired.
