Aunt Pearl's version of Sander's Frosting Recipe
Sander's is a metropolitan Detroit area confectioners company which opened in 1875. They sell wonderful cakes and this is a close version of one of their frosting recipes. Spare no calories!!
Ingredients
- 1 egg white
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
- 1 cup scalded milk
Directions
- Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar very slowly - 1 tbs. at a time while beating constantly. Add milk 1 tbs. at a time. Chill 15 minutes. Beat shortening, and add other mixture to it 1 tbs. at a time. Add vanilla at the end.
