This is a traditional German oven pancake. If you've never had one, you've got to make this. It is soo delicious and nothing like a regular pancake.

I like both the plain and apple version of these pancakes, but the apple are my absolute favorites! Try with braeburn or gala apples for perfection!

My mom used to make this when I was a kid and I love making it for my kids, too! The apples are a perfect addition.

I've never heard of this dish before -- it great! I like it better with the apples -- it's like eating apple pie for breakfast :) My comments on are: use unsalted butter; watch the time at the end -- for me, I think 30 minutes was fine; and although the recipe says to turn it upside down on the serving plate, I think the top side is much more presentable (maybe do 1 flip to get it out of the pie pan, then a second flip to put it on the serving plate).

My brother used to make this for me almost every weekend! It is soooo awesome! Great for the memories for me; now making new memories with those I treasure! Thanks for the great times and the great food! You can also add cinnamon with the powdered sugar or, best yet is to add vanilla ice cream and have apple pancake ala mode! Pretty awesome!

my kids and i loved this. but i think it cooked to high for me at 400. so next time I will cook it at 350 and see if that does better. but, it was simple and good! kind of like a funnel cake. oh, and i didnt have lemon so I just dusted it with powder sugar
