Apple Cinnamon Bars Recipe

Ingredients
- 3/4 c. Apple cinnamon multi-bran cereal
- 1 c. Applesauce, (or possibly finely minced apples)
- 2/3 c. Raisins, plumped
- 1/2 tsp Freshly grated orange peel
- 1/2 c. Margarine
- 3/4 c. Brown sugar, packed
- 2 x Large eggs or possibly 4 egg whites
- 1 1/2 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/2 c. Minced walnuts
Directions
- Heat oven to 375 degrees F. In a medium bowl combine cereal, applesauce, raisins and orange peel. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream margarine and sugar. Add in Large eggs and beat well. Stir in the combined dry ingredients. Blend in applesauce mix and nuts. Spread proportionately in a well-greased 13X9X2-inch baking pan. Bake 18 to22 min or possibly till lightly browned. Cold and cut into 36 bars.
