  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. cool unsalted butter, cut into pcs
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 lrg egg, beaten
  • 3/4 c. sliced almonds, lightly roasted
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 lrg egg
  • 1 lrg Granny Smith apple, peel & very thinly sl
  • 1/3 c. apricot jam, heated and strained
  • 2 Tbsp. Triple Sec liqueur

Directions

  1. To make the crust:In a food processor, blend together the flour, butter, and sugar till the mix resembles coarse meal. Add in the egg and mix together till the mix just forms a soft dough.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out into an 11-inch round and carefully fit the round into a 9-inch tart pan with a removable fluted rim. Set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  4. To make the almond mix:In the food processor, finely grind the almonds with the sugar. Add in the butter and egg and blend till smooth. Spread the mix proportionately in the reserved crust.
  5. To make the apple mix:Arrange the apple slices on the almond mix and bake for 25 to 30 min, or possibly till the crust is golden brown. Let cold on a wire rack.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the jam and liqueur and brush the glaze over the hot baked tart. Serve.
  7. YIELD: 8 SERVINGS
