As a fan of oatmeal, but not a fan of plain, I decided to amp up the health factor by adding flavor, texture and fruit. Why not? We all know we're not getting enough fiber and we also erroneously skip breakfast at times. Major oops.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Quaker Oats Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 cup, 2% milk
  • 1 teaspoon, Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon, Turmeric
  • dash of cayenne (or more, if you like)
  • 1 teaspoon, Honey
  • 20 count, blueberries
  • 1/3 cup, sliced almonds

Directions

  1. Add 1/2 cup oats
  2. 1 cup, 2% milk
  3. Heat to medium/high heat before turning down to a simmer for fiv3e minutes (should be on your oats package)
  4. Add cinnamon, turmeric, cayenne and honey
  5. Once simmered for five minutes, remove from heat
  6. Sprinkle with rinsed blueberries and sliced almonds
