  • 2 1/2 Lbs. Chicken Wings, Separated
  • 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Large Egg, Beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. Milk
  • 3/4 Cup Almonds, Ground
  • 1 Cup White Bread Crumbs (Tip)
  • 1 Tbs Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Orange Zest
  • 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil, For Frying
  • 1 1/2 - 2 Cup Plum Orange Sauce (Recipe Attached)

Rinse chicken and pat dry. In pie plate, toss chicken in flour; coat generously. In medium bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
In another medium bowl, combine almonds, bread crumbs, salt and orange zest.
Dip chicken in egg mixture, then almond mixture. Place chicken in 2-Quart casserole. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.
In heavy skillet, heat oil to 375°F. Deep-fry chicken 10 -15 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in center. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with Plum Orange Sauce.
Cook's Tip:
For a crunchier crust, use panko bread crumbs in place of the white bread crumbs.
You can bake these for a healthier choice. Heat oven to 375°F and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray pan with non-stick cooking spray, place breaded wings onto pan and bake for 40 - 45 minutes or until centers are no longer pink.

That's great Shalina, I hope you enjoy this. After trying one recipe where it used ground peanuts in the coating, I started experimenting with other nuts.
