A Year with Six Sisters' Stuff {Cookbook Review and Giveaway} Recipe
by Kara Cook

I love a great cookbook. Don’t get me wrong, I like finding recipes on the internet (hello Pinterest), but there is just something about holding a cookbook in my hands and flipping through the pages that just makes me happy. I got my hands on the Six Sisters’ new cookbook a few weeks ago. I already love it!

It’s called “A Year With Six Sisters’ Stuff”, and rather than being arranged into categories, it is arranged into 52 menus, one for every week of the year. So if you hate planning menus, that is a great bonus! Of course you don’t have to stick with each menu exactly, you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

If you are an avid reader of food blogs, you will probably recognize several of the recipes in the book. (I’ve even got several of them posted here on my website.) But that doesn’t bother me, because I like having them in book form with a pretty photo to go along with them.

This cookbook is full of simple meals that are easy to prepare. I made the Korean Beef and the Creamed Corn this week, and they were both amazing! I may have accidentally been a little heavy handed with the red pepper flakes in the Korean Beef, so my younger kids thought it was a little spicy. But boy was it good! And it came together in about 20 minutes, so it’s definitely going into our regular rotation!

And don’t get me started on the creamed corn. If all you’ve ever tried is nasty canned creamed corn. . . this is nothing like it. It’s amazing! Not low in calories, but a perfect indulgence for special occasions. I might have to sneak it into every holiday menu for the rest of the year.

If you are familiar with the Six Sisters’ website, you know that they post recipes that are simple, call for ordinary ingredients, and don’t take hours to prepare. Perfect family recipes for busy moms. This cookbook is just like that! And it has a photo of every recipe, which is a must for a great cookbook in my opinion!

There are dozens of other recipes that I have bookmarked to try. Don’t these Raspberry Lemonade Cupcakes look amazing?

We are big fans of salmon around here, and I can’t wait to try the Blackened Salmon Tacos.

In addition to the fabulous recipes, there are some fun dinner traditions, some dinner conversation starters, and even a few cute craft projects. Such a fun cookbook!

Right now A Year with Six Sisters’ Stuff is on sale on amazon.com for $15.75. (affiliate link) It is paperback, and has handy flaps that can be used to hold your place if you get interrupted. Which happens a lot around here. It seems pretty sturdy, so I’m hoping it will hold up to years of abuse.

Here’s the best part:
