About me
I am a divorced woman who is friendly with an outgoing personality, loves to laugh, even at my own expense. I refuse to grow up, my friends say I lift their spirits when they are down. I love being a Caregiver to the elderly.. My background has been in the medical field for many years working in (Psychiatric Hospital - Secretary and also in the Health Dept. clinics).
I just recently lost my mother and best friend. It happened so fast, due to neglect of the hospital. I miss taking care of her, as she was self-sufficent at 89 yrs old. People say I take after her, and if I say so myself, she was a great cook. Although my mother wasn't Sicilian, my father's father (my Grandfather) taught my mother many great Sicilian/Italian recipes. When living in Sicily he made wine and the barrels to put the wine in. I have his tools, and they are way over 100 years old.
I am passionate about cooking (but rather have a crowd to cook for). Now that I live alone, I have lost the desire to cook like I used to. When you loose your parents and you have been very close to them, it's like a part of you dies. I want to get back on track and enjoy the things I used to, such as cooking trying new recipes and being more mobile.
Cooking Influences
I was greatly influenced by my mother. I also loved learning how to cook while in Home Ec classes, and I believe that's when I got hooked.
Two years ago I bought a double range oven for my kitchen and I'm in hog Heaven with that. It was like being a kid again in a candy store!
I love to watch Drive-Ins, Diners and Dives! Guy tickles me to death. In fact I named my dog after him "Guido", which means Guy in Italian.
