About me
I love food. Thats it. I bake, I cook, I eat. I'm italian so i ooze olive oil and bleed in forms of tomato products. I love testing new things and trying to recreate favorites. My boyfriend and I are always finding things that "sound good" and having a blast trying to do it. I will eat just about anything if I can figure it out and pronounce it.
Cooking Influences
While I'd love to say that my cooking is influenced by my family, I really started cooking out of necessity. My mom and my sister are great cooks and provided great meals while I was growing up, but it was my father who pushed me to explore new foods and techniques.
A lot of my recipes are inspired by family foods that I have recreated in my own way.
The Food network is always on in my home - I wish that was an exaggeration but I pretty much only pay for decent cable to have the Food Network. My favorite shows all seem to be hosted by Guy Fieri but its the guest chefs that inspire me. I love home Chefs and restaurant Chefs who pour their heart and soul into their food and it shows.
I look to Alton Brown when I need to know the technicalities of cooking as well as a new and unique way of doing something that may be "common knowledge"
My favorite chef on there would probably Demaris Phillips though. She is just very much like me in her style of cooking and her personality.
