Baked CabbageBeing Irish I grew up eating cabbage and ham, I love Cabbage. But we always had it plain, or in colcannon. In Lancaster Pa (Amish country) at Millers Restaurant I had Baked Cabbage and it was wonderful! I couldn't wait to make it at home. |

Hot German Potato SaladAnother Amish treat. I'm not a big fan of german potato salad but my Mom and her whole family from upstate Pennsylvania love it. The love hot bacon dressing on dandelion greens too. It's what they grew up on. If you have never had it, it's worth trying. |

Corn and Spatzle SoupThis is a wonderful Amish soup. It makes for a wonderful dinner with a salad and some nice crusty bread. The Spatzle recipe here makes about 3 cups, you only need one for the soup. You can serve them up as a side dish with browned butter. |
