Recipe Summary & Steps

Football season is such a perfect reason to get together with friends and family to watch your favorite team play. Even if you aren’t into football its a perfect excuse to get together for delicious food! This Touchdown Chorizo Queso Dip is packed with incredible flavor and super easy to make! I really love coming up with some fun and delicious snacks for football season. Our family tries to get together often to watch our team play and of course a tasty spread is a must! This past weekend we were able to hang out outside and watch the game at my brothers house {yes, we’ve had unseasonably warm weather here in Jersey}. I made this AH-MAZING Touchdown Chorizo Queso Dip and it was a big hit!  Todays post is not only awesome because this is a fantastic recipe but also because its part of a fun recipe round up of tailgating snacks from some of my favorite food bloggers! This is October Tailgating Snacks Month!! I am so excited to be a part of it this year. Be sure to scroll all the way down- you’ll find an incredible collection of recipes to complete your ultimate tailgating spread! In my book, spicy and cheesy are a great starting point for a football snack! I love chorizo! Its super flavorful and that deep color is just so pretty. What else goes perfect with cheese and chorizo? Beer! I always use a beer in my queso dips not only for flavor but it helps keep the dip for getting overly thick. I used cream cheese and cheddar jack cheese in this one and it is perfect! The cream cheese adds to the creaminess and the cheddar jack to the flavor and gooey factor. Print Touchdown Chorizo Queso Dip Author: Angela LeMoine   Ingredients 2 Tbsp olive oil 1 lb chorizo, removed from casing 1 tsp salt 1 tsp Garlic 1 tsp chili powder 1 -12 oz amber beer 8 oz bag shredded cheddar jack 8 oz cream cheese 1 cup store bought fresh salsa scallion and fresh salsa to garnish serve with tortilla chips Instructions In a large skillet add the olive oil, chorizo, garlic powder, chili powder and salt. Using a potato masher or spoon, break up the meat as it browns. Once browned, use a slotted spoon and remove the chorizo, set aside. To that flavorful oil add in the beer and reduce by half. Stir in the cream cheese and shredded cheese. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir in the salsa and simmer another couple minutes. Pour into a serving dish, top with more fresh salsa and snipped scallions. 3.5.3228 October is Tailgating Snacks Month 2017 Hosted by Life Currents October 12 Chili Relleno Dip Skillet by Take Two Tapas October 14 Soft Pretzel Beer Cheese Dip by Mildly Meandering October 14 Healthier Greek Yogurt Buffalo Chicken Dip by Full Belly Sisters October 16 Garlic Butter Dipping Sauce by Life Currents October 18 Low Sugar Chicken Meatball Parmesan Sliders by Seduction In The Kitchen October 20 Sofritas Chipotle Potato Skins by Bowl Me Over October 22 Loaded Slow Cooker Cheeseburger Dip by Who Needs A Cape?
