Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced and cut into 1 inch lengths
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. beef broth
  • 1/3 c. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. sake wine or possibly cooking sherry, (optional)
  • 1 1/2 c. each sliced carrots and celery
  • 1 c. julienne-sliced green onions, including some green tops
  • 1 c. thinly sliced mushrooms (5-oz) can sliced bamboo shoots, liquid removed
  • 1 pkt leafy greens blend Warm, cooked rice

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or possibly wok on medium high heat. Add in beef and stir-fry quickly, till lightly browned and no longer pink. Sprinkle with sugar. Combine broth, soy sauce and sake; pour over meat. Bring to a boil. Transfer to a bowl, cover and set aside.
  2. Increase heat to high, add in carrots, celery and green onion, stir-frying approximately 2 min. Add in mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Stir-fry 1 minute. Add in 1/2 package of greens and 1/2 of meat mix. Stir-fry 30 seconds. Add in remaining greens and meat and stir-fry till mix is heated through. Serve immediately over warm rice.
