St. Patrick's Day Beef Stew with Guinness by John SpottiswoodThis is a great Beef Stew adapted from a recipe by Margaret Johnson. We doubled the recipe, used about half the butter, and added plenty of salt and black pepper. We also cooked it about 5 hours ahead of time and let it sit in the pot for another 3 hours after it was done cooking. It was awesome. |

Irish Stew for a Crowd by K. GarnerTips: -The picture here shows what it looks like with additional broth; add more at will. -The beef browning process is a little flawed. If you aren't particular about a sear on the outside of the pieces, then proceed as directed. -Salt isn't an ingredient, but you must add it, to your liking. Credit goes to the Nesco 18-Qt. Irish Chocolate Stout Cake by Nancy MiyasakiI am a lifelong chocoholic and love many types of chocolate cake. Very few have impressed me as much as this chocolate stout cake orignially from the Barrington Brewery in Great Barrington, Mass. The dark stout beer (I use Guiness) gives this cake an intense, not-too-sweet flavor. And it is enough to feed an army! |

St. Patrick's Day Irish Champ by John SpottiswoodThis is a traditional Northern Irish dish of mashed potatoes with milk and sliced green onions. I thought it was a delicious under our St. Patrick's Day Salmon and Leeks recipe. The leeks and green onions really went well together. That said, the green onion flavor is quite strong so I would caution against serving this with… |

Fantastic Irish Soda Bread by Nancy MiyasakiI made two Irish Soda Breads for St. Patrick's Day this year, and this one was superior. And it is really, really easy! If you eat it hot out of the oven, it melts in your mouth like a warm cornbread. If you let it sit a few hours, it hardens into a thicker texture with the same great taste. You won't be disappointed! |

Irish whisky marmalade by www.bakefest.blogspot.comMy mother makes the best marmalade ever. It's one of the treats I enjoy when I'm at home in Ireland. I usually have it in the morning after a big fry up. Doesn't matter how much I've eaten, I always manage to squeeze it in. So in honour of my Irish Mammy, and because St. Patrick's day is almost upon us, this is for you! |
