• 1 1/2 cups flour (or whole wheat pastry flour if available)
• 1/3 cup vanilla sugar
• 1 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
• 1 cups rolled oats
• Zest of 1 orange
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1/8 cup coarse vanilla or demerara sugar, for sprinkling
• 1/2 cup dried cranberries
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
• 1 cup dark chocolate chips
