Ingredients
- 1 lb beef chuck steak, cut into strips
- 2 tbls oil
- 2 tbls onion, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup celery, sliced
- 2 green peppers cut into thin strips
- 2 red pimento cut into thin strips
- 1/2 cup consome or stock
- salt and pepper
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 3 cups cooked rice

Chinese Pepper Steak
Time: 15 minutes prep, 30 minutes cook
Servings: 6
Directions
- Add oil, brown beef slowly. Add onion, garlic, celery, green pepper and pimento. Add consome, season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer at least 20 minutes. Thicken cornstarch blended with water and soy sauce. Serve hot with cooked rice.
