Ingredients

  • 1 loaf unsliced plain or possibly seeded rye bread
  • 1 pkt plain Brie - (8 ounce) softened
  • 1/2 c. unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 sm red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 pkt sliced Swiss cheese - (8 ounce)
  • 1/2 lb sliced deli pastrami
  • 1 pkt baby spinach salad - (10 ounce)
  • 1/4 lb sliced Havarti cheese

Directions

  1. Slice the bread lengthwise into thirds. In a medium bowl, combine the Brie, butter, crushed red pepper, and black pepper; mix well. Spread over the cut sides of bread, including both sides of the middle section.
  2. On the bottom slice of bread, layer half of the onion, the Swiss cheese, pastrami, and half of the spinach. Top with the center section of bread, the remaining onions, the Havarti cheese, and remaining spinach.
  3. Replace the top of the bread and secure at regular intervals with sandwich toothpicks. Cut and serve.
  4. This recipe yields 4 servings.
