Ingredients

  • 6 slc bread, 1/2" thick trimmed of crust, and buttered
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb country sausage cooked, liquid removed
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 can diced mild green chilies - (4 ounce)
  • 10 lrg Large eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. half-and-half
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp dry oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Directions

  1. Place prepared bread in greased 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle in order given the cheddar cheese, sausage, Monterey Jack cheese and chilies.
  2. Combine Large eggs, half-and-half and seasoning, mixing well. Pour mix over layers. Cover and chill overnight.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 min. Let set for 10 min before serving.
  4. This recipe yields 6 servings.
