.%20I%20then%20pick%20any%20recipe%20from%20that%20blogger's%20site,%20make%20it%20and%20write%20about%20it%20here.%20There's%20also%20a%20link%20hop%20at%20the%20end%20of%20the%20post%20so%20that%20I%20(and%20you)%20can%20check%20out%20all%20the%20other%20participating%20blogs.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENeat%20idea,%20right?%20I'm%20excited%20to%20see%20who%20got%20the%20Ninj%20and%20what%20s/he%20decided%20to%20make!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20month%20I%20got%20to%20check%20out%20the%20offerings%20from%20Jenn%20at%20A%20Cook's%20Quest.%20She%20has%20lots%20of%20great%20recipes,%20especially%20if%20you%20are%20cooking%20on%20a%20budget.%20But%20of%20course%20I%20knew%20which%20recipe%20I'd%20choose%20when%20I%20came%20across%20her%20sugar%20cookie%20crust%20for%20fruit%20cobbler.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOr%20cobblah,%20if%20you're%20a%20New%20Englandah.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20a%20big%20fan%20of%20cobbler%20but%20have%20only%20ever%20made%20it%20with%20a%20thick,%20biscuity%20topping,%20so%20this%20seemed%20like%20a%20nice%20alternative.%20Because%20who%20could%20possibly%20not%20like%20fruity%20filling%20topped%20with%20cookies?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EExactly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThanks%20to%20Jenn,%20I%20was%20not%20disappointed.%20(And%20neither%20was%20Mr.%20Ninj,%20given%20the%20gusto%20with%20which%20he%20polished%20off%20most%20of%20the%20pan.)%20The%20crust%20is%20definitely%20sweet%20and%20cookie-like,%20%20although%20not%20too%20crispy:%20a%20really%20lovely%20dessert.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(Although%20with%20this%20crust,%20you%20can't%20really%20scam%20and%20eat%20cobbler%20for%20breakfast,%20as%20you%20can%20with%20the%20biscuity-style%20topping.%20Well,%20unless%20you%20are%20me,%20that%20is.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECan%20you%20spot%20my%20sous%20chef,%20hard%20at%20work?You'll%20want%20to%20spread%20the%20batter%20a%20little%20bit%20with%20your%20fingers%20to%20cover%20all%20the%20fruit%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20Jenn%20provided%20a%20great%20crust%20recipe,%20she%20left%20the%20filling%20choices%20and%20prep%20up%20to%20the%20reader,%20so%20I%20based%20mine%20loosely%20on%20guidance%20from%20The%20Joy%20of%20Cooking,%20using%20the%20gorgeous%20blueberries%20and%20peaches%20that%20are%20in%20season%20right%20now.%20But%20I%20also%20see%20this%20working%20nicely%20with%20apples%20and%20pears,%20as%20an%20alternative%20to%20my%20favorite%20crumble.%20%20%20Let%20the%20cobbler%20cool%20for%20a%20while%20before%20serving,%20so%20it%20retains%20its%20shape%20better%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMaybe%20with%20a%20few%20boozy%20cherries%20thrown%20in?%20Oh%20my%20GAWD:%20that%20would%20be%20wicked!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20always,%20if%20you%20give%20this%20recipe%20a%20try,%20let%20me%20know%20how%20it%20turns%20out%20for%20you.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20already%20looking%20forward%20to%20next%20month's%20SRC%20assignment!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlueberry-Peach%20Cobblah%20with%20Sugar%20Cookie%20Crust%20(adapted%20from%20A%20Cook's%20Quest)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote:%20This%20recipe%20yields%20enough%20batter%20for%20a%20fairly%20thin%20layer%20of%20crust.%20If%20you%20prefer%20a%20heftier%20crust,%20you%20might%20want%20to%20try%20making%201.5x%20the%20amount,%20but%20be%20advised%20that%20you%20will%20need%20to%20adjust%20your%20cooking%20time%20as%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20filling,%20combine%20the%20first%20three%20ingredients%20in%20a%20large%20bowl,%20toss%20to%20coat%20and%20spoon%20into%20a%20baking%20dish%20(mine%20was%209%22%20x%209%22%20but%20this%20makes%20enough%20to%20fill%20roughly%20any%202-quart%20capacity%20deep%20dish).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20crust%20topping,%20cream%20the%20butter%20and%20sugar%20in%20a%20stand%20mixer%20until%20fluffy.%20Add%20the%20remaining%20ingredients%20and%20mix%20until%20just%20combined.%20%20Drop%20the%20batter%20by%20large%20spoonfuls%20on%20top%20of%20the%20fruit%20mixture.%20Gently%20use%20your%20fingers%20to%20spread%20it%20out%20so%20that%20the%20entire%20surface%20is%20covered.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2020%20minutes%20and%20then%20increase%20the%20oven%20temperature%20to%20375%20without%20removing%20the%20dish%20from%20the%20oven.%20Bake%20for%20about%20another%2020-25%20minutes%20until%20the%20crust%20is%20golden%20(but%20start%20checking%20for%20doneness%20after%20about%2015%20minutes).%20Let%20cool%20for%20at%20least%2020%20minutes%20before%20serving.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
