Ingredients

  • 3 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 tsp Black walnut extract
  • 1/2 c. Walnuts, minced

Directions

  1. Cook sugar, cream of tartar, salt, and lowfat milk to soft ball stage, stirring frequently. Wipe down sides of pan to remove crystals. Remove from heat; add in butter. Cold without stirring, till lukewarm. Add in extract and nuts; beat till creamy. Pour into a greased square pan; cut in squares.
  2. Makes 11/2 pounds.
