Beef Pepper Steak

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 pound round steak, cut into thin strips about 1/8 inch thick
  • 1 med. onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. cool water
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Beef Pepper Steak

Directions

  1. Preheat oil in electric skillet, uncovered, at 325 degrees. Add in meat and brown. Remove meat to serving dish. Add in onion and green pepper slices to skillet and cook till just tender.
  2. Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce. Add in sugar, garlic, salt and pepper. Pour into skillet with vegetables, stirring till sauce is thickened and clear. Add in meat and cook several min longer or possibly till heated through. Serve over rice or possibly noodles.
