Ingredients

  • 1 pkt (1.4 oz) active dry yeast
  • 3 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1 c. Butter or possibly margarine, softened
  • 3 x Egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 c. (8 ounces) lowfat sour cream
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Finely minced pecans
  • 3/4 tsp Grnd cinnamon
  • 1 med Tart apple, peeled, cored and finely minced
  • 1 c. Confectioners' sugar
  • 4 tsp Lowfat milk
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract Finely minced pecans

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the yeast and flour: add in butter and mix well. Add in egg yolks and lowfat sour cream: mix well. Shape into four balls. Place in
  2. separate resealable plastic bags or possibly wrap in plastic wrap: chill overnight. In a small bowl, combine sugar, pecans and cinnamon: set aside.
  3. On a floured surface, roll each ball of dough into a 9-inch circle.
  4. Sprinkle
  5. with sugar mix and apple. Cut each circle into 16 wedges: roll up from wide edge and healthy pinch to seal. Place with point side down on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 16-20 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  6. Immediately remove to wire racks to cold. For icing, combine sugar, lowfat milk and vanilla till smooth: drizzle over the twists. Sprinkle with pecans.

  8. NOTE: The yeast does not need to be dissolved in liquid, and no rising time is necessary before baking.
